Description
Hi. I'm a renter ,seeking to rent, and have been looking for 4 months. It has been the most frustrating thing in my life. And I have rented since I was 18 years old in Canada. And now I'm in my 30s. It has been even worst to rent than buying a home. Landlords are very dishonest. They claim that they are looking for good tenants, and maybe that's true, but the fact that they are very prejudice, stereotypical, judgemental, is very disturbing. They claim they want AAA tenants but AAA tenant also means that you have to match with their preferences of race, and background. If you are a landlord I think this is very unfair ,and bias. Based upon viewing numerous rentals, I have been judged off of race, or background more than income. They don't want you in their home if you are a certain race, they base the price off of your race . Some landlords changed the price ,upon arrival to the place, some don't even view your documents before they make their decisions. One Asian guy realized I wasn't Asian so he completely blocked me, just for saying if this is available, and yes I do fit the descriptions that they request. Nigerian guy wants Nigerian students,or people only. But didn't state that in the ad. Right after asking where I'm from I know he wouldn't consider me.( so if they ask where are you from, that means they are looking for certain types of people. Indians don't want to rent to you unless you are Indian. ( won't rent if you're black and eat meat.) Caucasians won't rent because they simply think that you can't afford it. People like these are what's wrong with toronto today. Canada is a country that is made up of mainly immigrants, and continue to grow tremendously, with many multicultural backgrounds, and that's what makes us all on(I know eh!) So that being said ,how can one migrate to a country ,to only discriminate against another. Our country Canada has opened it's arms to so many, and what if Canada had been judgemental enough to be prejudice, the same way some of you all are. We are equal no matter what we look like, God gave us two hands , one to help ourselves, and one to help another person. Skin color, culture, sex, wallet size, should not only matter. If someone is a good person why not give them a chance. Anyone can become in any situation and need help, so place yourself in other people's shoes . Make Canada great again by living good with eachother, getting to know eachother, before we automatically judge one another. Life is too precious to not be a good person. ✨️
